Sucker Brook Bay Trail

Sucker Brook Bay Trail

This is an easy ride/hike that passes Upper and Lower ponds, with a final destination of Sucker Brook Bay on Raquette Lake. There is an intermediate to expert spur trail off the main trail that takes you back to Brown Tract Road. There is also an unimproved road and trail around Lower Pond.

Getting there

Access to this trail from Raquette Lake is via the Antlers Road to the Browns Tract Road. Park on Uncas Road, across from the Browns Tract Pond beach access. Look for the dirt road. This is the old railroad.

Mountain biking

It's an 8.5 mile round trip. The loop around Lower Brown Tract Pond adds 2 miles.

Birding

The brook is a great place to bird watch as many species of boreal bird are often seen and heard here.

Winter

Winter access is not recommended, as Uncas Road is a snowmobile trail in the winter.
