July's a Hot Month!

July's calendar is jam-packed with events for all ages!

With a stellar 4th of July weekend upon us, it should be known that July is when the event calendar hits its peak!  In fact, there are so many great events scheduled this month that writing a "highlight of events" really just can't do it justice. To get a real idea of what is happening, you need to check out the complete events calendar. But before you do, here is a little tease of what's in store:

July Event Highlights:

Independence Day

With 5 sets of fireworks, bed races, parades, games and thousands of falling ping pong balls, there is so much happening on July 4th in Hamilton County that one could not attend it all (and trust us, we've tried)! If fun and unique events are what you are looking for this holiday weekend, we are sure to have something to fit the bill. Adirondack Renaissance Fantasy Festival

July 11-12, 2015 (Inlet, NY) - Ready thyself for a magical tour through time and legend at Inlet's Fern Park as the Adirondack Renaissance Fantasy Festival takes place on July 11th & 12th. Lords and Ladies will marry in company of knights, gypsies, pirates, belly dancers, puppeteers and dragons as they enjoy live music, flame throwing, live performances, great food and more.

Indian Lake Block Party(S)

July 11 & 18, 2015 (Indian Lake, NY) - You have never really experienced an Adirondack block party until you have been to an Indian Lake Block Party. Lucky for you, July offers two chances to experience them! The first is on July 18th when the renowned "Fulton Chain Gang" performs from 6-10pm in the parking lot at the intersection of NYS Routes 28 & 30. The second opportunity takes place the following week (July 18th - same place, same time) when "The Bad Chaperones" will be rockin' the night away during the kick off of the Adirondack Challenge Festival.

US Waterski Show & Cardboard Box Float-Off

July 18, 2015 (Long Lake, NY) Let the world Famous US Waterski Team dazzle you with their death-defying stunts at the Long Lake Town Beach on Saturday, July 18th. You're encouraged to show up early and learn a whole new meaning for playing in a cardboard box. Yes, remember that childhood fun on Christmas morning when you were just as excited to play in the oversized cardboard box as you were to discover the goodies inside? Well, Long Lake takes this excitement to a whole new level with the annual Cardboard Box Float-Off. The town will provide you with the cardboard and duct tape, so all you need to do is show up ready to have some fun! The Cardboard Float Races will begin at 11am and the US Waterski Team Show will follow at 3pm.

July 18, 2015 (Blue Mountain Lake) - The Adirondacks is home to a wide variety of resources and artisans that come together with a mix of tradition and entrepreneurial spirit as the Adirondack Musuem in Blue Mountain Lake presents The Made in the Adirondacks Fair. Wander through the museum campus as it is blanketed with 100% Adirondack made arts, crafts, food products, live music, demonstrations and more.

July 18, 2015 (Piseco Lake, NY) - Celebrate three decades of racing tradition at the 30th Annual Piceco Lake Triathlon scheduled for Saturday, August 18th. Whether you are a spectator or a competitor this beautiful 1/2 mile swim, 11.5 mile bike and 3 mile run course is something to see. If you are looking to participate, register online now!

July 18-19, 2015 (Inlet, NY) - Enjoy a weekend of shopping, art and music by the water as the Town of Inlet presents the annual Arts in the Park. Shop from the 70+ vendors, listen to the sounds of Fritz Henry, Clef Dwellers, Dan Duggan & Peggy Lynn, capture the beauty of one of the best sunsets in the Adirondacks, and indulge in some good eats served on premise. 

Adirondack Challenge Festival

July  18-19, 2015 - (Indian Lake, NY) - Join in the fun of this year's Adirondack Challenge in Indian Lake, NY by stopping by the Adirondack Challenge Festival. Fun starts on Saturday with a Paddle Poker Run and a wide variety of other great events all leading up to Sunday's headliner: The Adirondack Challenge Festival at Byron Park. This year's festival will include float plane rides, a bounce house, inflatable obstacle course, dunk tank, bucking bull ride, a waterslide, the Adirondack Wildlife Birds of Prey exhibit, Hamilton County Soil & Water Invasive Species Exhibit & demonstration, live music, food and more!

July 31-August 2, 2015 - (Raquette Lake, NY) - The tranquil hamlet of Raquette Lake, NY comes alive with activity on the last weekend of July as they celebrate the legacy of William West Durant and the birth of Great Camps Architecture. Enjoy a full weekend of activity which includes boat tours of historic great camps, concerts, poker run, boat parade, fireworks and more!
