Long Pond

Long Pond

Access to this pond is limited and the fish are not of any significant size, but if you're looking for a new place to fish and explore, this location has your name on it.

Getting there

From the intersection of Route 28 and Route 30 in Blue Mountain Lake, follow Route 28 toward Raquette Lake and continue for 2.5 miles to the state trailhead for Grassy Pond on the left.

Fishing

Hike the Grassy Pond trail and you'll soon see the Grassy Pond to your left. Locate an unmarked path that crosses over the trail and turn right on it. Follow it just under 0.5 mile to the Long Pond, which is on the left.

Follow the 1 mile foot trail to the north shore. Paths to the shore access the pond for the best shoreline fishing. Boat access is not recommended.

Special regulations: always follow state fishing regulations and be sure to pick up a NYS Freshwater Fishing Guide at your local outfitters or regional DEC office.
