With sandy beaches and incredible rolling hills all around, this is the place to be on Lake Piseco. Take it all in as you hike, swim, paddle, and fish. 

Camping

Located on picturesque Piseco Lake and offers activities such as hiking, swimming, sailing, boating and fishing.

Point Comfort allows visitors to leave the world behind, as it's the most remote of the 3 DEC campgrounds on Piseco Lake, and is well known for its quieter atmosphere. It has the largest natural sand beach in the Adirondacks and a large day use area. A day use pass is required for use of the boat launch.

How to get there

From the intersection of Route 8 & 30 in Speculator and drive west on Route 8 for 8.8 miles. Take a right onto Old Piseco Road (Casey's Corner's Convenience Store & Gas on corner) and drive for 6.8 miles to reach Poplar Point on the left side of the road. (2 miles past the Little Sand Point Campsite)

Paddling

Motor boats, rowboats, and canoes allowed. A boat launch is available.

Fishing

Fish for walleye, rainbow trout, brown trout, lake trout, smallmouth bass, brown bullhead, perch, rock bass, and whitefish.

Swimming

The largest natural sand beach in the Adirondacks.
