First, there is a level walk on a marked trail to Good Luck Lake. A small backtrack to an unmarked trail leads up a short steep climb, then an open ledge with fantastic views.

Getting there

From Piseco, take NY 10 about 11.6 miles south from the junction of NY 8 to the trailhead.

Hiking

The Good Luck Lake Trail is an easy 0.5 miles to the shore. The route to the cliffs is 3.9 miles from parking to cliffs. There is 2.9 miles of snowmobile trails to reach the beginning of the cliffs trail. From that point there will be some blue "foot trail" markers through the final, steep, climb to the open ledge area.

Swimming

The first stretch leads to a secluded sandy beach on Good Luck Lake.

Camping

The lake trail provides access to several designated campsites.
