Brown Tract Pond State Campground

Tucked away in seclusion a short way off the main tourist route, this "jewel" of a campground remains one of the best kept secrets in the Adirondacks.

Facilities

Camping for tents and RV/trailers with 84 sites, a picnic area with tables and fireplaces, flush toilets, a trailer dump station, and a recycling center. Families can enjoy bicycling here as well.

Eighth Lake State Campground

Enjoy extensive hiking and biking trails, or take to the water with DEC canoe rentals. In winter, this is a snowmobile area.

Getting there

The parking area is on NY 28, exactly 2.3 miles north from the Eighth Lake Campground and 2.3 miles south from the four corners in Raquette Lake. It has a small 'Canoe Carry' sign that cannot be seen from the road. The GPS coordinates are N43 47.796 W74 41.706. The trail is marked with canoe carry and snowmobile markers.

Turn left for a wide, comfortable, 0.4 mile trail to Dunning Lean To. Be sure to sign the trail register

Thornbush Acres RV Park

The area boasts with trails to hike, mountain biking and road biking. Indian Lake is known as the whitewater rafting capitol of New York with abundant spring rafting and limited summer rafting. The area has many lakes, ponds and rivers to canoe, fish or swim in. The Park is located in the middle of Three lakes, just a short distance away. There are 11 lakes within a 15 mile radius.

Free Wifi, bathhouse, dump station, all sites have full hook-up.

Campstore on site: RV supplies, liquid propane, live bait, fishing tackle, locally made crafts, public phone. (No food)

Point Comfort State Campground

With sandy beaches and incredible rolling hills all around, this is the place to be on Lake Piseco. Take it all in as you hike, swim, paddle, and fish. 

Camping

Located on picturesque Piseco Lake and offers activities such as hiking, swimming, sailing, boating and fishing.

Point Comfort Campsite is the most remote of the 3 DEC campsites located on Piseco Lake and is well known for its quieter atmosphere due to its remoteness. It has the largest natural sand beach and a large day area. A day use pass is required for use of the boat launch.

Little Sand Point State Campground

Great quiet family campground with 78 large wooded well-spaced campsites, located on picturesque Piseco Lake.

Camping

In addition to great campsites, there are numerous hiking trails only minutes from campground. Swimming, sailing, canoeing, and fishing are all available to campers.

Concrete boat launch, hot showers, flush and vault toilets, trailer dump station, firewood for purchase, pay telephone, and recycling center all available on site.

 

Limekiln Lake State Campground

Limekiln Lake Campground is run by the DEC.

Getting there

From downtown Inlet travel 0.75 mile northeast on Route 28 and turn right on Limekiln Lake Road. Drive 2 miles to the campsite entrance on the right.

Camping

The campground has 3 miles of paved roadway that is great for road biking in the spring, summer, and fall. In the winter the town of Inlet grooms a 3 mile loop for cross-country skiing. These are double and single-track trails that connect to Fern Park. Be aware that there may be a few wet sections that have to be walked.

Lewey Lake State Campground

Peaceful, secluded, wooded campsites located on the water. Offering 197 campsites, a swimming beach and a boat launch, Lewey Lake Campground is a true Adirondack "get away from it all" campground.

Facilities

Picnic area with tables and fireplaces, restrooms with separate shower building, all of which have some facilities designated as accessible for the mobility impaired. A trailer dump station, a recycling center, a sand beach, a swimming area, a bathhouse, boat launches on Lewey Lake and Indian Lake, and many nearby hiking trails.

Lake Eaton State Campground

Lake Eaton offers a number of secluded sites that will please any camper. Lakeside sites will have beautiful sunset views and woodland sites are filled with relaxing forest sights and sounds. Canoe, rowboat, and kayak rentals are available. A blacktopped roadway for biking and walking enthusiasts is sure to please.

Getting there

This launch is located at the Lake Eaton State Campground on Route 30 two miles north of Long Lake.
