Camping

Smell the refreshing Adirondack air!

Inlet has numerous unique camping experiences, and has some of the best New York state campgrounds and the one of the few free camping areas in the Adirondacks.

Helping camping enthusiasts discover new basecamps for their Adirondack adventures is our pleasure. Whether you arrive on foot or in an RV, you'll find the campgrounds here are all in amazing locations and offer great amenities. Let the incomparable backdrop of the Adirondack woods and waters set the stage for your next favorite memory.

Inlet is home to the Moose River Recreation Area, a 50,000-acre primitive camping area with more than 100 camping sites accessed by a network of seasonal roads. Each site has a firepit, a picnic table, and an outhouse, and several sites are wheelchair accessible. Camping here is free, and no reservations can be made for these first-come, first-served, carry-in, carry-out sites. Other primitive, free camping sites can be found around Moss Lake.
