Fern Park
Fern Park is for everyone!
Fern Park is a free, four-season, town of Inlet recreation park located on Loomis Road, just off of South Shore Road.
Visitors can hike, bike, ski, and snowshoe! There is even ice skating in winter and weddings in summer.
Fern Park is also used for overflow trailer parking (boat or snowmobile).
In summer, this park offers a playground, ball field, indoor and outdoor basketball courts, public restrooms, and a network of more than 20 miles of loop hiking and mountain biking trails that range from easy to difficult.
There are single and double-track trails for riders and hikers to follow, with lots of elevation changes. Winter brings groomed sledding, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing outside and an indoor skating rink, public restrooms, and warming rooms in the pavilion.
There are 1.2 miles of lit and groomed trails in the winter for nighttime ski and snowshoe excursions.
How to get there
From downtown Inlet, drive SE on Route 28 and make a right onto South Shore Road. Follow for 0.3 miles, make a left onto Loomis Road, and continue for about 100 yards to the parking area.
