Hiking in Inlet
A hiker's paradise!
Inlet truly is a hiker's paradise. The West Central Adirondacks boasts many miles of varied trails, ranging from short and easy strolls to all-day climbs. We have bog hikes on floating boardwalks and short strolls among centuries-old white pines. An avid hiker could find enough trails and hikes within a few miles of downtown Inlet to fill up months of exploration.
It is best to plan hikes based on your ability, and to let others know where you're going and when you expect to return. Bring a day pack and carry extra water, food, and layers of clothing, as the weather can change quickly in the mountains, even on a warm summer day.
Paddling in Inlet
Have we got water!
Paddlers venture from all over the Northeast to explore the waterways in the Inlet area. The Fulton Chain of Lakes can accomodate day trips or overnight excursions, and Brown's Tract Ponds also offer nice paddling. Venture north or south from Inlet to find more opportunities for paddlers. Local marinas, outfitters, and guides are happy to answer any questions for you and help you on a journey, small or extensive.
