Inlet in the Fall

Fall in the Adirondacks is the perfect time to visit. The weather has cooled down, but we still get the occasional gorgeous summer-like day. The scenery is unbeatable, and the crowds of summertime have lightened up. One of my favorite places to visit in the fall is Inlet. There is so much to do and see; you won't want to miss it! Here are just a few of my suggestions:

Mountain bike at Fern Park

A woman rides a mountain bike down a dirt trail through the forest.

Fern Park is a great spot to take a walk, hit up the playground, or play some basketball, but a favorite pastime for my family is to mountain bike. Fern Park has over 20 miles of multiple-length loops varying from easy to expert, from double to single track, up and down Fern Mountain. It is a great spot for all skill levels and the trails are well maintained. The trail map shows the miles of trails and the versatility for all seasons!

Work your way through the Inlet Outdoor Family Challenge

The Inlet Outdoor Family Challenge is a great way to get your family out there together hiking, biking, and paddling! Complete 12 of the 17 activities and for just $5 you will receive a special patch signifying your accomplishment. This is an awesome activity to do together with your whole family. There is no better way to spend a warm, beautiful fall day than on the water, and the cooler fall days are perfect for that family hike. Bald Mountain is a family favorite, with amazing views and an awesome fire tower, without too long of a hike.

Horseback riding

Adirondack Saddle Tours offers horseback rides varying in length from an hour to a full day excursion and is great for people from beginners to the most experienced! Before visiting Adirondack Saddle Tours, I had never been horseback riding and they made my feel completely at ease and comfortable, even on the back of the gentle giant Yor! The company owner, John, is not only passionate about his horses, but also about providing experiences for disabled veterans and children. Fall is a gorgeous time to take a trip through the woods and on horseback is a whole new way to see the foliage.

Take in the sights
Fall Sunset Arrowhead Beach

If you are in search of beauty in nature, fall is an amazing time in the Adirondacks. A paddle across a calm lake can bring you peace. Relaxing on the dock at Arrowhead Beach to take in the sunset can bring you serenity. Fall is an amazing time to unwind and relax after a busy summer season.

We hope you will come visit us and enjoy all of the great things Inlet has to offer! Make your dining and lodging reservations now.
