Snowmobile Trails are Open!

Trails opened on December 3 and the groomers have been out.  Best places for updated trail reports are SnowmobileOldForgeNY.com and ILSnow.com.  Inlet's trails are most similar to Old Forge's and ILSnow rides our trails from Indian Lake to Old Forge often.

Governor Cuomo has designated the weekend of FridayJanuary 25th– Sunday January 27thafree snowmobiling weekend for out-of-state snowmobilers

Accordingto the Governor’s office: “During this promotional weekend, the requirement to register in New York is waived for properly registered and insured out-of-state snowmobiling enthusiasts.”

The aim of this program is to draw snowmobilers from other states and Canada to New York’s 10,400 miles of snowmobile trails.

The towns of Webb and Inlet will support Governor Cuomo’s program and will not require trail permits for properly registered and insured out-of-state snowmobiles 12:01AM Friday, January 25th through midnight, Sunday, January 27th.

New York snowmobiles are required, as always, to have a current New York State registration and insurance, and have a 2018-19 Trail Permit to be operated on the Webb/Inlet Trail System.

Arrowhead Park & Fern Park

The Town of Inlet has a Master Plan for Arrowhead Park, and many improvements have recently been taking place within the park.  New pathways were installed and pavers are being sold to enhance existing pathways.  A new driveway allows easier/safer access to the Town's rental cottages.  A changing room is being added to the bathhouse.  During Community Pride Day the Inlet Common School children made new step[ping stones for the garden near the bathhouse and water fountain.

The Inlet Planning Board  is looking for anyone interested who might like to sit on a committee to begin working on a Master Plan for Fern Park.  Fern Park is a great park with a pavilion, playground, baseball field, sledding hill, and miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing and showshoeing.  The Parks Department recently did a lot of work to the ball field, making it ready for the Eagle Bay BombERNS to play softball on this season.  But there is a lot more work that could be done in the park.  And one of the first things should be to inventory what is there.

If you are interested in being on the committee for Fern Park, they meet the third Tuesday of every month in the Meeting Room of the Inlet Town Hall at 7:00 p.m.  Or you can come to a planning board meeting.  The Inlet Planning Board meets the last Wednesday of every month in the Meeting Room of the Inlet Town Hall at 7:00 p.m.  Questions - contact Adele at 315-357-5501 or info@inletny.com.
