Where to Find the Coolest Stuff

If you are anything like me, when you have the chance to do some shopping, you love to wander around and spend time looking at everything. Whether you are in the market for a souvenir for yourself, a holiday gift for a loved one, or you’re just looking to kill a little time and wander around, I’ve compiled a list of a few of my favorite local shops.

Tracy’s Rustic Relics - Speculator

Tracy’s Rustic Relics in a new shop that opened up in Speculator during the summer of 2018. This quaint little shop is packed to the brim will all sorts of really cool new, used and re-purposed goods. There are two full floors of items that would make great gifts. If you are looking for any new home décor, this is the place to go! You can find decorations small and large, as well as beautiful furniture and accent pieces. They also carry a line of clothing called Dapper and Darling which features fun Adirondack themed clothing for all ages and sizes. Be sure to check out their Wedding Room upstairs which features items available for rent and sale for your big day!

Pine’s Country Store- Indian Lake

At Pine’s Country Store in Indian Lake, they will be the first to tell you that if they don’t have it, you don’t need it! They are a True Value Hardware Store but also carry many souvenirs, home goods and toys for kids. If you are an outdoorsman, they have a great sporting goods section as well. They also sell and rent kayaks and stand up paddle boards in the summer time.

Pedals & Petals- Inlet

One of many cute shops on Main Street in Inlet is Pedals & Petals, whose name only mentions a small part of what they have to offer. They are a specialty bike shop (and also a major sponsor of the Black Fly Challenge!) that sells mountain bikes, fat tire bikes, road bikes and just about any accessory you could possibly need. As you can tell by their name, they are also a full service florist that can help out with any occasion. You can also find lots of great gifts as well as camping and hiking gear. If you stop by in the wintertime you can find cross-country skis, snowshoes, and ice skates, all great for use in the Fern Park recreation area! They offer rentals as well as skate sharpening in store.

Hoss’s Country Corner- Long Lake

Right in the center of Long Lake, Hoss’s can easily be spotted by the giant stuffed bears that guard the entrance, as well as the tree that sprouts from the roof.  This store has everything you could imagine and more. They have an entire section of specialty books and a Christmas department where you can find all the Adirondack ornaments you could ever need. Anglers will find all the gear they need and can even pick up their fishing license while they browse. If you head upstairs you will find clothing, including outdoor wear, hoodies and baby clothes.

These few stores only touch the surface of what we have to offer in the Adirondacks. You can spend hours and hours wandering our amazing shops, finding things that you never knew you needed. Start planning your visit today! Explore our lodging and dining facilities and make it a getaway to remember!
